Synopsis

The Project called Chica Chic, Carmen in performance, is part of a research project that studies performance, theories and methodologies in the field of Dance and Theater. Promoted through the encounter with the Other, it develops psychophysical training and self-understanding.
When celebrating the Centennial of Carmen Miranda in 2009, several performances were carried out in public spaces and in academic and artistic events. The scripts were based on an autobiographical approach, integrating the memories and emotions of the researcher, emanated from the cultivation of the performing actress. Fusions and summaries of biographies in visual, sound and body movement expressions, constitute the materiality of character embodiment by the researcher actress.
