Synopsis

Ti Etê: Rios de Luz is the film of the symphony Ímã Etê: A Verdade que Atrai, by Priscilla Ermel, a multi-ethnic show that celebrates the encounter between different cultures and musical gestures performed by the Jazz-Symphonic Orchestra of the State of São Paulo, Índios Ikolen Gavião from Rondônia and Grupo Cupuaçu with Tião Carvalho from Maranhão. Recorded live at the Memorial da América Latina (SP, Brazil) by Toni Venturi, the concert was surrounded by another film of images captured by composer and anthropologist Priscilla Ermel on her forays through Africa: Tumbuctu (Mali); Middle East: Sana’a (Yemen); Brazil: village of the Ikolem Indians (RO), São Luis (MA) and São Paulo (SP). Inspired by the Taoist philosophy of the five elements, the film invites us to decipher the secrets hidden in Ti Etê's five symphonic movements: Rivers of Light - Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. Watching it is immersing yourself in an unprecedented poetic and human journey.
